Opened in the summer of 2014, Maíz Taquería is a Californian-Mexican food restaurant in the heart of Würzburg. We care about providing our guests with amazing and fresh food in a relaxed and fun ambience. With corn tortillas made fresh daily, along with our own homemade pico de gallo and salsas, Maíz Taquería serves innovative and healthy cuisine. Inspired by the “street food” scene, we believe that by offering a smaller menu that is comprised of excellent dishes with fresh ingredients, we can contribute something unique to the beautiful city of Würzburg.
We also serve our homemade lemonade and iced tea with a free refill along with tasty margaritas, craft beers and more traditional beverages.

About the Owners:
Jonah Ramos was born in the United States and grew up here in Würzburg. A trained chef, he has worked in Michelin star restaurants as well as working as a head chef. He has expanded his culinary repertoire by seeking exciting challenges in kitchens around the world. Jonah is inspired by the street food movement and firmly believes that exciting and fresh food should be made at a price that is affordable to everyone.
Prof. Dr. David Toumajian was born and raised in Los Angeles. A marketing professor by training, he has studied and worked in Spain, USA, Germany and Denmark. David believes that your dining experience is exactly that: an experience. His convictions have led him to try and create an atmosphere in which excellent food can be enhanced by enjoying it in a unique and relaxed ambience.
